If you fancy a change from sportive riding then the Wiggle Enduro 6 has just opened for entries offering a weekend of running and mountain biking events. Taking place on the 5th and 6th May 2012, Saturday features a 10km running event whilst Sunday offers a 6 hour mountain bike enduro.

More details in the press release below –

The Wiggle Enduro 6 weekend begins with the 5th annual Wiggle Run 10K. A UK exclusive, for both amateur and elite runners this will be a preview of the exciting adidas Thunder Run course!

The Wiggle Run 10K is a fantastic opportunity for runners to get a taste of the mental and physical off-road challenge. The best thing is that runners of all abilities can join in – the Wiggle Run 10K course is short enough to walk or jog, yet the rolling terrain is also testing enough for experienced runners to really push themselves and set new personal records.

On the second day of the Wiggle Enduro 6 weekend, the Wiggle Enduro 6 cycling event will unite the UK’s number one Online Retailer, Wiggle, with Pro Velo Support – an established name on the MTB calendar. The result is a one-of-a-kind endurance event that is regarded as one of the finest and most rigorous MTB events in the UK. Riders will take to the six-mile course as pairs or individuals and will aim to complete as many laps as possible within six hours. If that’s not challenging enough, the Wiggle Enduro 6 sets itself apart by adding an extra twist – each rider or team has to have all of their kit within a secure area before the race begins. Known as a ‘Parc Ferme’ event, absolutely nothing can be added once the event is underway, making preparation an essential part of race success.

Proof that good things come in threes, Wiggle and Pro Velo Support are also hosting a third and final challenge on the 2012 Wiggle Enduro 6 weekend. The Night-time Time Trial satisfies riders craving speed by pitting cyclists against the clock to see who can complete one lap of the Wiggle Enduro 6 course in the fastest time. As an open event with just female and male categories, cyclists will race alongside both novices and experts – it’s an incredible opportunity for participants to observe
different riding techniques and learn new skills.

Wiggle’s Director of Marketing, Martin Talbot said:

“2011 was a fantastic year for the Wiggle Enduro 6 weekend – we’re really proud of the event’s reputation for being a friendly, social occasion. The Wiggle 10K Run brings everybody together by giving both recreational and elite runners a chance to try the impressive adidas Thunder Run course. This is exactly what Wiggle is about – everybody can have a go at feeling good and achieving personal goals!”

Patrick Adams, of Pro Velo Support, echoed Martin’s enthusiasm:

“We always, always strive to offer first-class sporting events that are focused on meeting the needs of the competitor – it’s our way of making sure that the events can be enjoyed by people of all ages and all abilities. It’s brilliant to be working with Wiggle again too – the Wiggle Enduro 6 weekend 2012 is going to be incredible!”

Additional features of the Wiggle Enduro 6 weekend will include trade stands from Wiggle, and other supporting companies and brands. Furthermore, entrants will be able to relax before and after racing with the on-site catering, commentary, hot showers and plenty more.

Entrants are encouraged to book soon as tickets sell out fast.

The Wiggle Enduro 6 weekend will be held at Catton Park near Tamworth on Saturday May 5th and Sunday May 6th 2012
