Sir Dave Brailsford joins Champions of CycleSport Dinner

Sir Dave Brailsford is among the latest names to be confirmed to attend this year’s Champions of CycleSport Dinner in aid of children’s charity Action Medical Research. Tables are currently on sale for the event, which is supported by online retailer Wiggle and will be held at London’s exclusive Hurlingham Club on 28 November.
As performance director of British Cycling, Brailsford is credited as one of the principal architects in transforming GB Cycling Team’s fortunes over the last decade. He has gone on to replicate that success on the road with Team Sky and two consecutive Tour de France winners.
He says: “The Champions of CycleSport Dinner is always a great way to round off a successful cycling season. This will be my third year at the event and it gets bigger and better every time. It’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all that’s great about cycling with a room full of like-minded people while supporting a truly worthwhile cause.”

Other new additions to the guest list include former British road champion Roger Hammond, now manager of the newly formed Madison-Genesis team. He is joined by team rider Dean Downing who recently won the Beaumont Trophy, the UK’s oldest one-day road race and an event twice won by Sir Bradley Wiggins. Guests already announced include Chris Boardman MBE, Jonathan Tiernan-Locke and Jody Cundy.
Organised annually by Action Medical Research, the Champions of CycleSport Dinner celebrates the charity’s passion for all things cycling and last year raised £180,000 towards its vital work helping sick babies and children.
As well as the opportunity to mix with some of cycling’s biggest names, guests can also bid in a live auction full of exclusive cycling lots. Hosted by BBC commentator Simon Brotherton and sponsored by Frog Bikes, this year’s auction includes a fantastic VIP hospitality package for two to enjoy the finale of the 2014 Tour de France, kindly donated by Team Sky.
