LOCATION

EVENT SUMMARY

After it’s inaugural event last year attracted around 900 riders The Scottish Bike Show Sportive returns for 2013 offering riders two challenging routes through the most stunning countryside of The Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.

ROUTE INFORMATION

A choice of two route options –

  • 100 miles
  • 65 miles

“Starting at Balloch Castle on the shores of Loch Lomond, both rides immediately head out onto country roads. Riders will head north with some testing climbs towards Aberfoyle, and then over the Dukes Pass where riders will face some very winding bends, steep climbs and very quick descents. The shorter route then splits off west and tours round Loch Katrine before heading back via Stronachlacher, passing Loch Chon and Loch Ard. It then turns back towards Balloch Castle and the finish.

At Loch Katrine, the 100 mile route turns eastwards towards Kilnahog with riders then heading north passing Loch Lubnaig, Lochamhead and Loch Eam, before heading west past Loch Luhair and Loch Dochart to Crianlarich. The route then heads south passing Loch Lomond, Loch Long and Glanmallan, Auchenvennel and Dunfin before the final run back to Balloch Castle.”
