King of the Pennines

New for 2011, and following in the footsteps of their established King of the Downs event, the Evans Cyles Ride It! team are introducing a King of the Pennines cycle sportive. The two “King of..” events are for cyclists looking for an extra challenge and are harder, longer and hillier than the usual Ride It! sportives and designed to test cycling strength and endurance to the max.

Taking place on Sunday 4th September, the 101 mile King of the Pennines challenge takes in over 11,000 ft of climbing with riders being rewarded for all that effort with some of the best downhill straights and stunning views in the North. The route will take you to the limestone splendour of Malham Cove, through Kettlewell and on to Dodd Fell. The two route options available will be –

  • Half sportive – 48 miles (Halton Moor Loop)
