New Date for Reigate Rouleur
Posted Thursday 13th March 2014 –
The Reigate Rouleur has moved to July 13th from it’s traditional slot a week earlier, to a new date avoid a clash with the Tour de France Grand Depart in Yorkshire. Organisers Southern Sportive have explained that the move is in response to requests from riders on the popular sportive who want to be able to attend both.
“The Reigate Rouleur has been a fixture at the start of July for six years now, and has become one of our most popular events”, says Martin Harrison from Southern Sportive, “but of course everyone wants to see the Tour on British soil – including quite a few members of our team! So when riders started to email in, we thought it made perfect sense to move on a week this year. The Tour in Yorkshire is going to be another landmark for British cycling, and it’s going to inspire people to ride. And the Reigate Rouleur is a perfect outlet for that inspiration, starting right that inside the London Olympic course area, and heading out into the garden of England – the outstandingly beautiful Kent countryside. It’s an exceptional summer ride!”
Places on the Reigate Rouleur are strictly limited to 600 places and are expected to go fast after the events sell out success in 2013. For full details and to book your place, visit southernsportive.com.
