CX Sportive returns for the winter season with three great dates through to Spring 2013! The season gets underway from Salisbury racecourse on November 11th, with a stunning route around the Salisbury droves. Then in the New Year, the action moves to the Chilterns on January 27th, for the hugely popular Woodcote CX Sportive. This attracted nearly 500 riders in 2012 and will be even bigger for 2013! Finally, on March 10th the South Downs Super CX visits Duncton in West Sussex.

CX Sportive

Since launching two years ago, these mixed surface events have been attracting rave reviews and a huge variety of riders on an equally broad range of bike types. Designed to suit the all round capablities of cyclocross machines, the multi terrain courses have proved equally popular for hardtail MTBs, 29ers and hybrids, with a healthy array of full bouncers, winterized road bikes, singlespeeds and general clunkers making up the numbers. These really are events for everyone!

CX Sportive courses are graded into 5 terrain types by the organisers, from tarmac to farm tracks, bridleways and singletrack, and switch from one to the other to keep you on the ball. The result is a ride that’s never dull and constantly changing. Faster than a winter MTB mudfest, livelier then cold, wet road ride, CX Sportives are a great balance for your winter riding! All events feature 40, 60 and 80km route choices, with full route marking, maps, GPS files, support stations, rider timing, food, energy drinks and support.
