King of The Pennines Entries Close Today
Posted Wednesday 4th September 2013 –
Entries close today for this weekends King of the Pennines sportive, organised by Evans Cycles. The ride is the second of the Evans Cycles challenge events following on from the King of the Downs earlier in the year which feature slightly longer and more challenging routes than their regular Ride It events.
Starting from Skipton the full 99 mile route will see riders climb over 11,000 feet taking in well known ascents including Malham Cove, Park Rash and Fleet Moss with a final sting in the tail taking riders over Halton Moor. If the full distance sounds a bit too much there is also a shorter half route option coming in at 45 miles.
With the 2014 Tour de France starting in the same location it should be a good chance to ride some of the same roads that the pro’s will be tackling next year.
Advance entry is £27.00 which includes a rider breakfast and hot post ride meal as well as the usual on course support and finishers goody bag.
