The Isle of Man CC (Cycle Challenge) is a new cycling sportive which will be held on the world-famous Isle of Man TT Mountain Course for the first time in 2012.

ROUTE INFORMATION

The course is run on the Isle of Man TT Mountain Course with a choice of doing 1, 2 or 3 laps.

  • 1 lap – 37.7 miles
  • 2 laps- 75.5 miles
  • 3 laps – 113.2 miles

“The Isle of Man CC (Cycle Challenge) course is exactly the same as that of the Isle of Man TT, ie a clockwise route from the start / finish at the TT Grandstand on Glencrutchery Road in Douglas. It’s a magnificent course with ever-changing scenery from rural pasture to sweeping views across the Irish Sea. The highlight is undoubtedly the mountain section past Snaefell (a Norse name meaning ‘Snow Mountain’) between Ramsey and the Creg-Ny-Baa pub on the descent back into Douglas.

The course record on a bicycle has stood unbroken since 1993 when Chris Boardman passed 60mph on the descent to Creg-Ny-Baa to finish his lap in 1hr 23min 54sec during the Manx International Cycling Week”
