Hell of The AshdownEntries for the popular early season sportive, the Hell of The Ashdown, open at Midnight tonight. After last years 1,200 places selling out in under 36 hours you need to be quick if you want to secure a place for next years ride.

The event takes place on Sunday 26th February starting from Biggin Hill and taking riders out to Ashdown Forest and back on a challenging route that has been tweaked for 2012 and now includes over 4,300ft of ascent over 7 major climbs of Cudham Test Hill, Toys Hill, Forest Row to Ashdown Forest, Kidds Hill/Ashdown Forest (more commonly known locally as The Wall!), ‘Nouvelle Col de Groombridge’, Bayley’s Hill and Star Hill.

If the main 106km route sounds a bit challenging for early season legs there’s the Devil’s de Tour route option which offers a shorter but still challenging 50km route.

The entry fee is £25 and a contribution from each entry goes to Save the Herne Hill Velodrome Fund.
