Entry to the Exmoor Beast will close at midnight on Monday 22nd October and, with over 1400 now registered – already 17% up on last year – organisers are confidently predicting the biggest field of starters in the event’s history. “We’re in the process of securing additional hard-standing parking, so there shouldn’t be any problems, even if things did get a little damp on the day, although that’s not forecast” said Marcus Di Vincenzo, of event’s management company MIG. The outlook for the month’s end is looking good. Across the county there are some indications that there could be some long spells of dry settled weather. Temperatures are also likely to remain normal, but perhaps rising above average during settled periods. Now established as one of the U.K’s. must do challenges, the event, on Oct. 28, offers all finishers a commemorative engraved tankard, free beer token and an indoor finish; unique to a British bike ride.
