etape-mercia-logoEntries the UK’s latest closed road sportive, the Etape Mercia, are now open. Taking place on Sunday 18th August the event starts from Oulton Park Race Circuit and takes riders on a 111km (68.9 mile) route on traffic-free roads around Cheshire. The closed road course stays mainly to the east of Chester with just under 1,000m of ascent it looks set to be a bit less tough than the Etape Pennines event that was launched last year. The route will start and  finish with a loop of the Oulton Park Race Circuit where riders will start to the iconic red and green racing lights before finally crossing the finish line to a waving chequered flag.
