Early Entry Discounts For Somerset Hills Gran Fondo 2012

The Cheddar team who organised the May 2011 Somerset Hills Gran Fondo are excited to announce that they’ll be “doing it again” for 2012. The 2012 date is set for Sunday May 6th. The organisers said “Our first Gran Fondo was a great success, not because we had hundreds of riders but because everything ran so smoothly and we did not have one complaint only a few suggestions on how we could improve the day. We have taken the useful comments on board and next year will be even better.”

The 180km Gran Fondo and 124km Medio Fondo incorporate a few flat sections, but it is about maximum output, testing climbs and exciting descents with both routes taking in the famous 8km climb through the Cheddar Gorge before heading into the Mendip, Quantock and Exmoor hills.

Full support is on offer to all riders with a mix of roving mechanical and medical support, feed zones manned by cheerfull volunteers serving sandwiches, fruit and drinks.

Early entries made during 2011 will be £15.00. From the 1st of January 2012 the fee will be £19.00 or £25 on the day.
