EVENT SUMMARY

The Bronte Sportive is a well established and challenging sportive in Bronte Country, West Yorkshire.  This year our courses have been altered to encompass as much of the route taken by the Tour de France Grand Depart Yorkshire as possible.

ROUTE INFORMATION

Choice of four route options all starting from Keighley Campus, Leeds City College –

  • 23 miles
  • 55 miles
  • 71 miles
  • 88 miles

“There are four routes that can be taken; these are: 23, 55, 71.4 &
88
mile long.
The longest three routes cover 30 miles of stage 2 Tour, including the
stunning sections through Haworth, Bronte Country, Penistone
Hill,
Cock Hill, and the decent into Hebden Bridge. They also
include
England’s longest constant incline of 6.42 miles up Cragg Vale and
the
stunning decent into Ripponden. Even the 20 mile option takes in
7.4
miles of the route including Haworth, Penistone Hill and Oxenhope.

The 88 mile route includes 21 hill climbs and rises over 10,270
feet
cumulatively.”
