Online registration opens at 8am tomorrow, 5th November, for the RIDE100 series of UK road rides run by children’s charity Action Medical Research. Be there at lift off to enjoy an earlybird discount of 15%, limited to the first 500 entrants.

The charity’s cycling ambassador Joanna Rowsell MBE, who stormed to double victory at the UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Manchester over the weekend, is encouraging cyclists to sign up for one of 16 events taking place across the UK.

The RIDE100 series runs from April to the end of September, with rides taking in some of the country’s most stunning cycling locations. All offer a choice of either a mid-distance Classic or full-on sportive Champion route, with most now also including a shorter Cool route, aimed at those who are new to road cycling or haven’t had time to train.

Olympic gold medallist Joanna said: “It’s been great to see so many more people inspired to get on their bikes in recent years. The RIDE100 series is a perfect opportunity for cyclists of all abilities to put themselves to the test on some great routes and for an even better reason – helping sick and disabled babies and children. There is a distance for everyone, whether you prefer to play it Cool, be Classic or go Champion. I’m proud to support such a worthwhile charity and one that is so passionate about cycling. I hope you’ll join us in 2014.”

The season starts with the Bath 100, with a fabulous new venue and new routes for 2014, and the Peterborough 100, both on 13 April.

All rides are fully supported by the Action Medical Research team, with food and water stations, chip timing, marshals and mechanics.

Cyclists riding for the charity raise money to fund medical research to help save and change the lives of sick and disabled babies and children.

Action has played a significant role in many medical breakthroughs for over 60 years, starting with the development of the first UK polio vaccines. It is currently funding research into many conditions, including preventing early labour and developing treatments for babies affected by premature birth, helping children with disabilities and tackling rare diseases for which there are currently no cures.

The charity has a passion for cycling and has built up a successful portfolio of events, which also includes the Action London to Paris and the RIDE24 relay race.
