The first in the GB Sportive Series, the Long Leg Sportive takes place on 12th May, starting from the Surrey Sports Park, Guildford. A choice of three routes – 43 miles; 67miles or 80 miles- will take cyclists through some of Surrey’s most scenic country lanes and include some challenging climbs, not least Barhatch Lane which was tackled in summer 2012 by the pros during the last stage of the Tour of Britain – it’s not for the faint hearted.

Event director Rory Macpherson said: “The three courses have been designed to enable cyclists of all abilities to take part and they will be a challenged! Participants will enjoy home made cake and GU gels at the feed-stations to fuel their adventure and will be supported by NEG motorbike support riders and a mobile bike mechanic and a broom wagon.”
