Wyre Forest Stinger 2011
EVENT DATE
Sunday 8th May 2011
LOCATION
Stourport on Severn, Worcestershire
EVENT SUMMARY
Promoted by Wyre Forest Cycle Racing Club the event is billed as a Family Sportive as the organisers think Stourport-on-Severn is not just a great base for our event but has great attractions for families too and will also be holding Go Race / Youth events on their track on the day.
ROUTE INFORMATION
“The Stinger route can be described as a route of 3 sections, with the overall theme based on the Belgium classic of The Ronde van Vlaanderen, basically a clockwise loop of Worcestershire and parts of Herefordshire and Shropshire with a final section of short steep climbs which mirror the Flemish race route.”
- 169km Stinger - The Stinger is the full 169km route, so called because the early part of the ride is relatively flat but you can expect a real sting in the tail at the end of the ride. We have found you some of the best roads the Worcestershire countryside has to offer.
- 113km Mini Stinger – The Mini-Stinger at 113km is not as hard as the full sportive in terms of distance but still represents a challenge to those that undertake it, and includes the notorious Stinger Section.
