UK Cycling Events today announced that it has signed a new partnership, with Britain’s mapping agency, Ordnance Survey. The partnership will see them jointly promote a series of 5 winter / early season sportives, which include:

Ordnance Survey Nutcracker Sportive – Newmarket – 10th January 2015

Ordnance Survey January Insanity Sportive – Nr Winchester – 24th January 2015

Ordnance Survey Equalizer Sportive – Colchester – 8th February 2015

Ordnance Survey Cobbler Classic Sportive – Towcester – 22nd March 2015
Ordnance Survey Devils MTB – Plumpton East Sussex – 16th April 2015

The new ‘Ordnance Survey Spin Series’ will keep cyclists riding their bikes in the Winter months, as the new series of 5 events provides the perfect opportunity to kick off their cycling season earlier than ever before.

Martin Barden of UK Cycling Events Ltd said “We are delighted to be launching the Ordnance Survey Spin Series. We are very excited about providing riders the opportunity to continue riding sportives throughout the Winter months. As cycling technology and clothing has developed so much in the recent years, there really are no excuses not to continue doing what we all love ‘riding our bikes’ just because it is Winter”.

Gareth Miller, Head of Group Marketing at Ordnance Survey added “The Ordnance Survey Spin Series provides a fantastic selection of rides throughout the Winter months. Our partnership with UK Cycling Events is an exciting opportunity, which furthers our commitment to cycling, and to providing the best mapping for cyclists, across all our online, mobile and paper products. If you want to know exactly what the terrain has in store for you, there is nothing better than an OS map.”

Riders will be looked after with great warm feedstations serving Tea and Coffee, in addition to plentiful amounts of free top quality on course nutrition from PowerBar. These slightly shorter routes in length, with wider and more weather proof roads, are the perfect opportunity for a good winter workout… there is no better time to “get out and ride”.

At the finish riders will receive a warm welcome at the well-equipped venue, a finisher’s medal, and free recovery products from PowerBar and of course a warm cuppa.

To launch this new series a 10% discount on all ticket prices are being offered until the 1st of December 2014 and all riders will receive a free PowerBar nutrition pack worth £10!
