Tour Ride Sportives Group Offers and Awards

Organisers of The Tour Ride sportives are targeting groups, teams and cycling clubs to take part in this September’s rides in Stoke-on-Trent and Scotland.In addition to enjoying a discount for groups, organisers are creating two special awards to be given away to teams in both The Tour Ride Stoke-on-Trent, on Sunday 1st September, and The Tour Ride
Scotland, on Saturday 14th September.

There will be a prize for the most stylish team or group entrants at this September’s Tour Rides, the official sportives of The Tour of Britain, the UK’s biggest professional cycle race.

The ‘Panache Trophy’ will be awarded at each Tour Ride to the group or team of riders who take part in the sportive whilst showing the most style. The prize will be judged by Tour Ride organisers with the aim of encouraging team spirit in a fun and creative way.

The Tour Ride ‘Team Award’ will also be presented to the club, group or team who enter the most riders into either the Stoke-on-Trent or Scottish Tour Rides.

Groups can also claim a free sixth place for every five places purchased in a Tour Ride. To take up this offer groups should email ride@thetour.co.uk for more information.

The Tour Ride Stoke-on-Trent returns for a fifth successive year on Sunday 1st September. Starting and finishing from Trentham Gardens, a choice of 50 and 100-mile routes through the Staffordshire Moorlands are available, both of which include the famous climb of Gun Hill.

The Scottish Tour Ride takes place the day before Stage One of The Tour of Britain, giving amateur cyclists the chance to take part in their own ride over 100-miles from Peebles to Drumlanrig Castle.

A 50-mile Challenge Ride starting and finishing from Drumlanrig Castle gives riders wanting a shorter ride the chance to join in the Grand Depart celebrations. Riders on both routes will enjoy the professional experience and support from Tour of Britain partners, while finishing beneath The Tour of Britain finish gantry that will welcome the conclusion of Stage One 24-hours later.
