CX Sportive have announced an additional feature to the Wiggle Surrey Hills Gravelcross CX on April 12th that could see you walk away with some tasty Lezyne prizes! As well as an intense 60km mixed terrain circuit through the Surrey Hills, the event will also feature a Special Timed Stage on an enclosed 3km cyclocross circuit within the Cranleigh Showground event site at the start of your ride, and again when you come into the finish.

This will be a fast, flat blast on mixed grass and gravel track, with a selection of bridges, ditches and obstacles to negotiate. And to make it a little more interesting, there are some great Lezyne prizes for the best lap times of the day and the best combined start and finish loop times. Plus a few spot prizes for those who are just enjoying the ride, to spread the Lezyne love throughout the field.

Everyone who enters will be timed for their first lap of the Special Stage loop at the start of their ride, before heading out into the hills for a choice of 60, 40 or 32km open hill circuits, in a particularly challenging course area. The Full loop boasts some 1280 metres of climbing! Then back at the finish, you’ll take on the 3km Special Stage again, timed so you can compare your starting and finishing speed on the day. Prizes will be awarded for fastest male, female and veteran times over a single lap, and for riders completing the Full event, there will be extra prizes for fastest combined start and finish laps. How quick can you go straight out of the gate, and how much will you have left in your legs after the big Surrey Hills circuit?

On top of the already great days riding in hills, it’s going to make a for a full day of on the bike entertainment! And as with all Wiggle CX Sportive Series events, you get a fully featured and supported event, including on site catering, feed stations, free energy products, roving mechanical support vehicles and more. There will also be free rider photos from Rob Barker Images, available from the CX Sportive Facebook page after the event.

So, have you got what it takes to perform on the Gravelcross Special Stage? Whatever the answer, you’ll have a great day finding out!
