Sunday the 3rd of July sees the first Santini Sportive take place in Kingston Lacey, Dorset. It promises not only some great riding around the scenic Dorset countryside but also the chance to celebrate Santini’s long association with the Giro d’Italia by riding with some legends from cyclings past.
Founded in 1965 Santini has been on the shoulders of many champions, providing winners from around the globe with some of the best in cycling clothing. Joining the sportive will be the Santini company founder Pietro Santini, the legendary Gianni Motta, 1966 Giro winner, and Giro d’Italia 1978 winner, Fausto Stiz.
The cycle sportive will take place in the grounds of the National Trust property at Kingston Lacy. A picturesque country estate that offers an ideal setting for a large sportive event. A private traffic free road will lead the riders in and out of the venue on to quiet local country lanes where there’s a choice of 80 and 50 mile distances on offer. Entry is £30 for the 80 mile course or £26 for the 50 mile course but if you use our discount code at the bottom of the page you’ll receive a 15% discount.
The event organisers are promising a true pro-peloton feel with the event featuring accurate electronic timing, well stocked feed stations and professional technical support and advice from SRAM.
