Ride Around London

We reported earlier in the year on the new Ride Around London cycle event taking place on Sunday 25th September 2011. The full route, which is a challenging 115 mile course, is now joined by the option of two shorter routes for cyclists who aren’t able to take on the full distance.

The full 115 mile distance starts at  the Herne Hill Velodrome, taking riders up the iconic Box Hill, along the beautiful North Downs, through Windsor Great Park, passing Eton Dorney and the Chilterns to finish next to the brand new 2012 Lee Valley White Water Centre. This is now joined by a 60 mile half route and a 25 mile fun loop.

The 60mile / 100km half route will start at Eton Dorney / Windsor and follow the same route as the 115 mile main event to the finish at Lee Valley White Water Centre.

The 25 mile loop will take place on towpath, quiet country lanes and forest tracks starting and finishing at the Ride Around London event village at the Lee Valley White Water Centre. The route includes Sustrans canal towpath, Thorndon Country Park, Epping Forest, High Beech vantage point, scenic villages, country pubs, cafes and picnic areas.

Funds raised from the event will help Access Sport to deliver quality community sport to children in the most disadvantaged areas of the United Kingdom helping to transform lives through sport.
