Reigate Rouleur Sold Out
Posted Tuesday 2nd July 2013 –
Southern Sportive have announced that the Reigate Rouleur, which takes place this Sunday (7th July), is now fully booked, as they continue to enjoy a record breaking season. The popular Surrey & Kent ride has filled up to a 600 rider capacity, and the organisers are stressing that there will be no more places available, and no entry on the day. “We are getting a lot of requests for late entries, but we have to ask riders to please not turn up at the event on Sunday, unless they already have an entry. We won’t be taking entries on the day or opening cancellation or no-show spaces, so please don’t come along hoping to get a place if you don’t have one already.”
While they are delighted at the events popularity, Southern Sportive say that turning riders away is something they reluctantly have to do. “We’d love to accommodate everyone who wants to take part, but for the sake of running a smooth and responsible event, we have to draw the line in a sensible place. The event limit is decided by the facilities and staff we can put in place, and by our risk assessment of the course.”
This year has already seen other Southern Sportive events, including established rides like the St. George’s Sportive and Great Western Sportive, attracting record attendance figures. And that trend looks to set to continue as the year goes on. “Our later season events are selling fast now too”, say the organisers. “The Woodcote Chilterns Classic in August and the Cotswold edge Sportive in October are both looking strong, and the Southern Sportive on the South Downs in September is going to be as hugely popular as ever in it’s eighth year.”
