New Wiggle Jurassic Classic Cycle Event

The Prostate Cancer Charity is urging people to get on their bikes for a scenic ride with a difference as it launches the Wiggle Jurassic Classic. The event, which will take place on Sunday 8 July, offers cyclists of different abilities the choice to cycle a circular route of either 100 kilometres or 100 miles along the picturesque Jurassic coastline in East Devon.
Mark Bishop, Director of Fundraising, said: “We are extremely excited to announce the Wiggle Jurassic Classic 2012. The event is designed to fulfil the challenge needs of those with varying amounts of cycling experience. With a route set out along the Jurassic coastline we hope riders can enjoy the stunning scenery along the way and finish up at Exmouth Rugby Club to enjoy a celebratory drink with their supporters.
“Every year 37,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer and with one man dying every hour from the disease we are urging cyclists to sign up, enjoy the day and support The Prostate Cancer Charity.”
Riders can enjoy the beautiful surroundings whilst taking on the distance most suited to them and with timings chips provided can record their efforts if interested. The ride will be fully signed, marshalled with well-stocked feed stations on route, and a medal awarded at the end.
The venue of the start and finish is Exmouth Rugby Club, Imperial Recreation Ground, Exmouth, Devon.
Families, friends and supporters are also welcome to join in on the day, with Exmouth Rugby Club and the local council organising a variety of entertainment, events and activities, its set to be a fun day for all.
Both distances cost £28 to take part in, with the 100 mile route starting from 7am and 100km from 8am. For more details and to enter visit –
