The UK Cycling Events team have annouced a new addition to the Wiggle Super Series for 2012. Taking place on Sunday 22nd July the Northern Angel Sportive starts from Kirkley Hall, a 17th Century Grade II listed building situated in the Northumberland countryside and will take riders on a route centred around the Northumberland National Park.

A choice of 3 routes will be on offer ranging from a 66 miles for the shortest upto 92 miles for the full distance. Here’s a course summary of what to expect –

At the enchanting and spectacular Harwood Forest the Fun route splits off and the Epic and Standard routes circumnavigate the breathtaking Simonside Hills which provide a dramatic jagged constant background. The Epic route briefly splits off once more to take in an extra northerly loop towards Kirdland Forest. All 3 routes then rejoin and cross the awe inspiring, Rayless Common, Corsenside Common, Troughend Common, Hareshaw Common and Chester Common. Riders will feel a sense of remoteness with virtually traffic free roads, but will have their senses constantly overloaded with the endless picture postcard views.

Entry is now open, full details can be found at –
