Etape PenninesIMG, the organiser behind the Etape Calendonia, have announed a new closed roads sportive event to take place on the 7th October 2012.

The Etape Pennines will start in County Durham and will feature a 78 mile course which is already being tipped to rival Etape Caledonia in terms of sheer beauty.

The event is the first closed roads event in England and only the third in the UK along with the established Etape Caledonia in Scotland and the new Etape Cymru that will run for the first time later this month.

Details of the Etape Pennines are still currently limited but entry is open and costs £61. Given how quickly the Etape Caledonia sells out each year you’d be wise to get your entry in early if you want to take part in the inaugral event.
