There is just over a week left to enter the Wight Riviera Sportive that takes place on Sunday 20th May on the Isle of Wight. Entries close at midnight on the 16th May and it won’t be possible to enter after this or on the day of the event. The event is the first sportive in the south of England to feature a public road closure which will see riders enjoying a mass depart and 25km traffic free closed roads loop before heading out onto the open roads.

Four distance choices are available, from the full 154km down to a family friendly 25km on those fully closed roads. The ride comes with the full package of infrastructure and support that Southern Sportive bring to all of their events. Fully comprehensive course marking, well stocked support stations on the route, top quality energy products from Torq, reliable timing with instant results, and all the slick organisation that comes with 20 years of experience.

On top of this, you’ll get a goody bag, a smart event t shirt and free tea, cake and locally made Mighella’s  ice cream at the finish. Event photography will be provided by local professional Jason Swain, and available to download for just £1 per picture in the week following the event, with all proceeds going to the Island’s Earl Mountbatten Hospice.

You can book online until midnight on Wednesday 16th May at southernsportive.com, where you will also find discount codes for cut price ferry crossings to the event.

Last month a group of riders previewed the course and you can watch the video highlights from their ride below to get an idea of what participants have to look forward to.
