King of the Downs 200 Mile Challenge
Posted Monday 30th April 2012 –
Evans Cycles are inviting riders who have entered their King of the Downs super sportive to take part in an additional training challenge in the lead up to them main event. All riders who can show they’ve completed 200 training miles between 28th April and Friday 4th May will receive an extra free gift in their event goody bag, Additionally the rider who completes the most miles during that period will win a Garmin jersey.
Full details on how to take part can be found below or on the Evans Cycles Ride It Blog.
Riders preparing to conquer the King of the Downs challenge ride will hopefully be starting to clock up the training miles as the event draws closer and we’ve launched a competition to get you out and pedalling.
The challenge ride, on Sunday 27th May, will cover 113miles (if you choose to do the full route) and it’ll be a hill fest with over 9000ft of climbing. We’re giving away a FREE Garmin Jersey* to the rider who clocks up the most miles over the next week, and we’ve got more gifts for any King of the Downs entrant who covers 200miles or more.
Riders will need to log their miles between Saturday 28th April and Friday 4th May. This gives you 7 days, and you can allocate your miles however you like: bit by bit, in a big blast, commuting or whooshing round country lanes.
Any rider who shows us they have ridden 200 miles will win an extra item in their King of the Downs goody bag. The BMC bag, which already includes gear from Muc off, High5 and Chamois Butt’r, is one of many special treats we’ve laid out for riders, alongside a breakfast, post-ride meal, and all the fantastic facilities you’d expect from a well organised sportive.
To show us your rides, you’ll need to use our generous supporters, Garmin. If you haven’t got a Garmin, buy one from us before Thursday 3rd May and you could also win a trip for 2 to stage 12 of the legendary Giro d’Italia.
To show us your miles, simply log into Garmin Connect on Friday 4th May, go to the ‘Reports’ page and send a screen shot of your last seven days riding to michelle.arthurs@evanscycles.com with ‘King of the Downs 200 Mile Challenge’ in the subject line. Provided there are over 200 miles logged on the bike, you’ll get a free gift if you’re signed up for King of the Downs.
If you’ve not already entered the King of the Downs event, places are still available –
