This week has seen the official launch of Hoy Bikes, a new brand of bikes developed by the six time Olympic Champion and eleven time World Champion, Sir Chris Hoy. The range has been developed with, and is exclusively available, via Evans Cycles and to mark the launch cyclists are being given a chance to ride with Sir Chris Hoy in the Hoy’s Summer of Cycling UK Tour.

Speaking about the new range Sir Chris said “With my professional career just behind me I was eager to find something I could devote the same energy and commitment too. Cycling has been and will always be my world – I just love to ride. In truth it wasn’t medals that really inspired me to cycle. It’s my love of riding that inspired me to win medals. Looking at the market I couldn’t really see anyone that was providing a great range of well designed, affordable, quality products that had a community of enthusiasts behind it. Buying a HOY bike is like joining a club, a cool cycling club at that.”

The range consists of 4 city bike models and 3 road bike models with track models to be announced later in the year. The road bike models are all called the Sa Calobra (named after a climb in Mallorca that Chris used to train on) and range from £850 for the Sa Calobra .002 model to £1300 for the Shimano Ultegra equipped Sa Calobra .004.
