Fred Whitton ChallengeEntry for the 2012 Fred Whitton cycle sportive which takes place on the 13th May is now open. As with previous years entry is via a postal system and you’ve got until Thursday 12th January to get your application forms back to the organisers. Entry is limited to 1,200 riders and is usually over subscribed in which cause all received entries are entered into a random draw to determine who gets a place.

he entry fee is £40 per rider. This includes electronic timing, 2 feed stations plus a small meal at the finish, a certificate of your ride and free parking at Coniston Sports Centre field (weather permitting). The event is volunteer organised and run, and after expenses all remaining money from the entry fee, and all the sponsorship raised, is donated to the charities that the event supports (The Dave Rayner Fund and Macmillan Cancer Support).
