With approaching 700 riders already signed up for the inaugural Exmoor Beauty, on April 22nd, the organisers are now confident that the new Somerset sportive will be a resounding success. “It’s always a big gamble when adding a new event to the calendar, but the concept of ‘The Beauty’ is clearly proving very attractive.” said Marcus Di Vincenzo of events management company M.I.G. “The route has been chosen for its scenic beauty and we’re keeping climbing to manageable proportions. The emphasis is on an enjoyable day out on the bike, with individuals choosing to make it a challenge, if that’s what they want. Most of all, we want it to be a fun event to do and are even awarding prizes for the best kitted-out riders in a Concours-de-Elegance competition.” he added. At a little under 120 km, the distance is ideal preparation for the summer’s more challenging events. However, with remaining places limited and entries set to close on Apr.18, time is running out if you want to join in the fun.
