The fully closed road Etape Cymru has established itself as the UK’s toughest closed road sportive taking riders through the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley with several well known climbs including the legendary Horseshoe Pass.

“The route starts and finishes in Wrexham and passes through the Clwydian Range (an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and Dee Valley area with stunning scenery. The route takes in several well-known climbs including the legendary Horseshoe Pass which incorporates a timed King of the Mountains challenge.

During the Etape Cymru there will be a special King of the Mountain timed stage for the Horseshoe Pass climb. This 6.1km climb gains 317m in height and at times the gradient reaches 20%. We will award the fastest male and female riders to climb the Horseshoe Pass during the event a special prize.”
