Entries are now open for the 2012 Wiggle Tour of the Peak.  The event features a route that includes 3 of Britain’s most well known cycling climbs – the 3 Peak District trophy climbs of Cat ‘n’ Fiddle, Winnats Pass and Holme Moss. If that sounds a bit too challenging there’s a new shorter route of 47 miles that still takes in the Cat ‘n’ Fiddle and Winnats Pass climbs.

Further press release details follow below –

Entrants to the 64 mile route option of the Wiggle Tour of the Peak will have to pace themselves as they gradually climb the 7 mile Cat ‘n’ Fiddle road. Legs will really feel the burn as they pedal up the limestone gorge of Winnats Pass. The Goyt Valley then offers some respite and cyclists can enjoy the breath-taking views as they descend through the captivating Derbyshire countryside.

Entrants wanting to really push their limits are encouraged to sign-up to the 96 mile option as it features the highest classified road in Britain, up to Heydon Moor – A.K.A. Holme Moss. It’s a truly iconic climb being featured in some of the World’s toughest races over the years – riders will be pedalling in the wheeltracks of many a top European professional rider. Not one for the faint hearted, but definitely one to score some cycling credibility!

Cyclists need to be quick to enter – the Wiggle Tour of the Peak always fills up quickly as it is perfect for riders that want a weekend break. The beauty of the Wiggle Tour of the Peak is that it is situated where there is ample accommodation and plenty of activities to entertain accompanying friends and family.

Title sponsor for the event is online bike, swim, triathlon and cycle retailer Wiggle – recently voted Bike Biz’s Online Retailer of the Year for the third consecutive year.

Geoff Saxon is Event Director of the 2012 Wiggle Tour of the Peak. Geoff’s view is that cycling is something that everybody should be able to enjoy – regardless of age, gender or ability:

“Kilo to Go events are known for having a brilliant atmosphere. Riders love the fact that they can take it as seriously as they want. Entrants can – and do – finish Kilo to Go events with great big smiles on their faces!”
